Push Plastic Carbon Fiber ABS Filament


Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) is a thermoplastic made from petroleum. ABS was the first type of filament developed for material extrusion (FDM/FFF) 3D printing. ABS releases harmful fumes when melted for during the 3D printing process and must be used in a well ventilated environment. It also requires a heated bed that can reach the temperatures of 100-110°C.


**Because of its toxicity, difficulty in printing, and that the advancements in the properties of PLA now meet and sometimes exceed the properties of ABS, NWA3D does not recommend ABS for printing in a classroom environment.**

  • Higher heat resistance than most PLAs

Recommended Print Settings

  • Printing Temperature: 230-240°C (sometimes cooler for lighter pigments)
  • Bed Temperature: 110°C
