NWA3D STEAM Grant Winner

NWA3D STEAM Grant Winner

We're excited to announce the winner of our 2018-19 STEAM Deal is Annette Weise, from Educational Service Unit #5 in Beatrice, Nebraska. Annette and her team at ESU#5 will use the grant's printers and filament as part of a mobile makerspace trailer that will travel between 10 public schools in southeast Nebraska. It's part of a new project called Exposing Kids to Career Opportunities (EKCO), which aims to put "technology into the hands of kids to expose them to different career opportunities and build in them the workforce skills that they will need for careers that may be in their future." The mobile makerspace trailer will have a direct impact on more than 5,000 students! We look forward to seeing the amazing things these students will accomplish using the printers in the makerspace.

The $2600 STEAM Deal includes three NWA3D A5 3D printers, 10 colors of PLA filament, a 3D Printing Tool Kit, a MODIFI3D Tool, and a travel case.

We received well over 50 applications for this grant, and were extremely impressed with the quality of many of the submissions. For those of you who applied, thank you for contributing to the success of this grant program. We plan to make this an annual event now that this inaugural effort was so productive.
