We Leveled Up at EASTcon17!

This year's EAST Conference was fantastic! Check out these pictures and videos from our week there, right before Spring Break:

On Tuesday, we wanted to prove how tough our NWA3D A5 is, so we dropped it 3 times! We dropped it from 3 feet, 6 feet, and 15+ feet and got it to print after each drop using only the tools it comes with and masking tape! Here's the final drop!

Here's a picture of it printing Wednesday in our Tinkerspace, sitting on the target we dropped it onto!

And here's the full HD video, to prove we got it working! Check out more videos on our Facebook.

Here's a look at our Tinkerspace. Students created models in TinkerCAD and we printed them on the 20 NWA3D A5 3D printers in our mobile makerspace. Thanks to students from Hot Springs High School EAST for assisting us! We couldn't have done it without you!

We set up a 3D Printer Tech Support Advice Table for classes to bring their 3D printers by to work on! We helped students from over 30 schools fix their 3D printers during the conference. Thanks to Steicy Lopez from Springdale School of Innovation for assisting us. She did an awesome job helping classes troubleshoot, unclog, and solder!

On Wednesday, Drew taught a class about planning out and troubleshooting 3D printing projects in EAST class! Here's the video to watch, if you couldn't make it to the class.

Thursday, Drew and Tim had a panel discussion about the past, present, and future of 3D printing and took some great questions from the audience. Here's the video if you're interested!

Last but certainly not least, we were honored to present the award for our 3D Print It Up Competition, which went to the best 3D printing in an EAST project. The award went to Buffalo Island Central High School! Look for more videos coming soon (that aren't blurry at the beginning) that explain their project and the other entries in the competition. They also won the Founders Award for best EAST class in the nation this year. Congratulations, you earned it!
